I love making documentaries because it’s great when people talk about things they love, or care about. It’s the best. I know how to ask the right questions and I know how to make people look good. But more importantly I know how to create a space, where they feel safe and open to sharing their stories. When there’s trust, when guards are lowered, that’s when they forget about the camera and the magic happens.
I also love making comedy. It’s the combination you never knew you needed. My ethos with comedy, is that the punchline is only as good as it’s setup. I like to take the audience on a little bit of a ride before we get there. I love creating layered oddball characters, fantastic worlds and stupefying situations. And I love the collaboration that is entailed in bringing it all to life. Fun.
